Understand the difference.

Compare the meaning, drawing context and source references of two entries. A similar graphic or shared abbreviation does not establish equivalence.

ANSI/IEEE ampere-hour meter symbol

An ampere-hour meter integrates current over time and is most often drawn in DC battery, charger and electrochemical supply circuits. It is normally fed from a shunt, so the schematic should show the shunt, its millivolt rating and the polarity of the sensing leads alongside the meter.

Form evidence
Autodesk IEEE-oriented Instrumentation and Sensors form: Ampere-Hour meter. Autodesk publishes this block under its IEEE Symbol Preview. The counterpart is the matching functional concept in the library; no equivalence of every detailed standard graphic is asserted.

A distinction that matters

An ampere-hour meter accumulates charge; an ammeter shows instantaneous current and a kWh meter accumulates energy.
