Antenna symbol
General antenna symbol, a vertical line ending in a V or triangle, used on communications and TV distribution drawings.
Plan symbol for a television or cable TV outlet with a coaxial connection.
In plain English
Television outlets terminate the building TV distribution, whether from terrestrial antenna, satellite or a cable TV provider. Plans draw a triangle or outlet shape tagged TV, sometimes with an additional tag for satellite (SAT) or FM.
The plan symbol tells the installer to run a coaxial cable from the distribution amplifier or splitter, and to provide a power outlet nearby for the television. Multi-dwelling buildings use outlets with defined isolation and signal levels. It does not show the signal sources or the loss budget; the TV distribution design does.
Look for SAT or FM tags. Find the source amplifier or splitter. A data outlet carries network cabling; a TV outlet carries coaxial RF signals.
