Understand the difference.

Compare the meaning, drawing context and source references of two entries. A similar graphic or shared abbreviation does not establish equivalence.

IEC OR gate (rectangular form)

The ≥1 qualifier inside a rectangular outline identifies an OR function. The notation literally reads as at least one input active, which is why the same family of symbols uses ≥m for threshold functions in other contexts. Inputs are drawn on the left and the output on the right unless an arrow indicates otherwise.

Form evidence
Rectangular outline with the ≥1 general qualifying symbol. Qualifying-symbol and dependency conventions as explained in TI's public overview of IEEE Std 91-1984, which incorporates IEC 617-12 work. Independent educational drawing; not certified IEC geometry or an IEC database identifier. The counterpart is the matching functional concept; no equivalence of every detailed standard graphic is asserted.

A distinction that matters

A box marked 1 alone is a buffer or single-input element; ≥1 is required for the OR function.
