Connector retaining wire identity

This form identifies a separable connector whose publisher representation preserves wire-number identity across the interface. The electrical connection passes through mating connector pins while the drafting system retains the wire identifier. Connector tags and pin numbers still describe the separable interface.

A distinction that matters

Wire-number continuity is a drafting-data convention and does not eliminate the connector's separable physical interface.

Terminal connection

A terminal representation identifies a connection point for conductors. The terminal number and strip or assembly identifier link the schematic to physical wiring documentation. A wire number and terminal number identify different things and should not be substituted for one another.

A distinction that matters

An electrical junction and a physical terminal are different concepts. A connection dot alone does not necessarily identify a terminal block.
