ANSI four-input NAND gate

A four-input NAND gate is drawn with the AND outline, four input leads and a bubble at the output. The output is low only when every input is high. The function is supplied by dual four-input NAND packages and is a common building block for address decoding and multi-condition alarms.

Form evidence
D-shaped AND outline with four inputs and an output bubble. Distinctive-shape form as used in IEEE/ANSI-style schematics and manufacturer data books. Independent educational drawing; exact standard geometry and compliance are not asserted. The counterpart is the matching functional concept; no equivalence of every detailed standard graphic is asserted.

A distinction that matters

An OR outline with bubbled inputs is the De Morgan equivalent of the same NAND function.

A distinction that matters

The inversion bubble concerns logical polarity; it does not identify a normally-closed physical contact.
