Energy meter repeater

An energy meter repeater has no measuring inputs of its own. It counts pulses from a transmitting meter and displays the resulting energy at a control room or tenant panel, so on the drawing it connects only to a signal circuit rather than to CTs and VTs.

Energy meter with pulse transmitter

This form shows an energy meter with a transmitting output, normally a pulse contact where each pulse represents a fixed amount of energy. The output feeds a remote counter, a summation meter, a PLC or a building management system, so the meter symbol is linked to a separate signal circuit.
