Understand the difference.

Compare the meaning, drawing context and source references of two entries. A similar graphic or shared abbreviation does not establish equivalence.

Magnetically latched operating mechanism reference

Identifies an operating mechanism that uses the documented magnetic latching construction. A switching-device operating reference adds the specific mechanism or duty context needed to interpret its place in a power circuit. The same basic switching outline can serve different equipment constructions, so the added description must remain attached to its device tag.

A distinction that matters

Coil polarity and energy depend on the equipment. This reference describes the named application; it does not establish a new IEC graphical symbol, an ANSI device-function number or an exact manufacturer connection diagram.

Circuit breaker

A circuit-breaker representation identifies a device capable of interrupting its circuit under the operating conditions for which it is rated. The drawing should connect that device to its equipment identification, protection arrangement and control information. The graphical mark alone does not establish the current rating, breaking capacity or trip settings.

A distinction that matters

A disconnector provides isolation; it is not automatically a fault-interrupting circuit breaker. Check published device capabilities.
