Single-bus single-breaker bay arrangement

Connects the assigned circuit through its breaker to one common bus. A busbar arrangement defines the available paths between incoming circuits, outgoing circuits and bus sections. Its switching devices and measurement boundaries determine how a circuit can remain connected when part of the installation is unavailable.

A distinction that matters

A bus fault can affect multiple connected bays. This reference describes the named application; it does not establish a new IEC graphical symbol, an ANSI device-function number or an exact manufacturer connection diagram.

Busbar

A busbar connects multiple power circuits to a common electrical node. In an SLD it is commonly represented as a line with feeder connections. The representation describes connectivity; physical conductor dimensions, enclosure, phase arrangement and current-carrying capabilities are separate equipment information.
