What it represents

Selects a continuous-signal channel through the documented controlled switching arrangement.

On a schematic, identify the analogue channels, common terminal, supplies and address/enable pins and trace the selected measurement path and ADC interface. Keep the component tag and signal/reference names consistent across the control drawing, terminal schedule and device documentation.

An analogue multiplexer passes signals within its limits; a digital multiplexer regenerates defined logic states.

The preview is an independently drawn educational functional reference. Add the selected component’s actual power pins, terminal numbers, timing or analogue reference details when producing a construction drawing.

How to read it

  • Identify the analogue channels, common terminal, supplies and address/enable pins.
  • Trace the selected measurement path and ADC interface.

Information to show or reference

  • Label the analogue channels, common terminal, supplies and address/enable pins.
  • Cross-reference the selected measurement path and ADC interface.
  • Add the selected device or circuit documentation revision, power/reference connections and project signal convention.

A distinction that matters

An analogue multiplexer passes signals within its limits; a digital multiplexer regenerates defined logic states.
