The operating element associated with a relay and its separately drawn contacts.
An automatic-trip qualifier indicates that the associated mechanism can operate automatically under its documented condition.

An automatic-trip qualifier indicates that the associated mechanism can operate automatically under its documented condition. An automatic trip describes an operating action initiated by a condition in the device or associated controls. The input that causes tripping may be protective, process-related or another documented trigger.
Show the trip source and resulting contact/device state through the circuit and cross-references. Reset, reclosure and return behaviour remain separate design information.
Automatic tripping and automatic return describe different parts of the operating sequence.
