What it represents

An emergency-operation qualifier marks the documented emergency actuation role. Emergency operation describes the role assigned to an action in the controls design. It does not reveal every device that stops, the retained services or the restart sequence.

Use the shutdown cause-and-effect document to connect the actuator with its actual outputs. The circuit must still identify contacts, monitored feedback and reset interfaces.

How to read it

  • Cross-reference the shutdown function, reset method and affected equipment in the controls documentation.
  • The qualifier is not a complete emergency-stop safety circuit.

Information to show or reference

  • Identify the associated device, circuit or diagram boundary.
  • Cross-reference the shutdown function, reset method and affected equipment in the controls documentation.
  • Cross-reference the equipment data, terminal mapping or operating-state legend needed to interpret the form.

A distinction that matters

The qualifier is not a complete emergency-stop safety circuit.
