What it represents

A lever-operation qualifier identifies a manually moved lever mechanism. A lever converts an operator movement into the action of another element. It can be used with position selection, mechanical release or electrical switching.

Separate the lever action from the contact normal state and identify any centre or retained positions. Where the mechanism reports position, give the feedback contact its own cross-reference.

How to read it

  • Show the associated contact positions and any latching or return feature.
  • Lever shape does not determine the contact electrical state.

Information to show or reference

  • Identify the associated device, circuit or diagram boundary.
  • Show the associated contact positions and any latching or return feature.
  • Cross-reference the equipment data, terminal mapping or operating-state legend needed to interpret the form.

A distinction that matters

Lever shape does not determine the contact electrical state.
