What it represents

Uses an amplifier feedback arrangement to amplify a signal without the intended polarity inversion.

On a schematic, identify the non-inverting input, feedback divider and reference node and trace the amplified output and feedback return. Keep the component tag and signal/reference names consistent across the control drawing, terminal schedule and device documentation.

A non-inverting configuration has a circuit-defined gain; the generic op-amp triangle does not establish it.

The preview is an independently drawn educational functional reference. Add the selected component’s actual power pins, terminal numbers, timing or analogue reference details when producing a construction drawing.

How to read it

  • Identify the non-inverting input, feedback divider and reference node.
  • Trace the amplified output and feedback return.

Information to show or reference

  • Label the non-inverting input, feedback divider and reference node.
  • Cross-reference the amplified output and feedback return.
  • Add the selected device or circuit documentation revision, power/reference connections and project signal convention.

A distinction that matters

A non-inverting configuration has a circuit-defined gain; the generic op-amp triangle does not establish it.
