What it represents

An optical isolation device whose output is a light-triggered triac-type switching element.

On a schematic, identify the LED input, output main terminals and any zero-cross feature and trace the external AC switching or triggering circuit. Keep the component tag and signal/reference names consistent across the control drawing, terminal schedule and device documentation.

A phototriac driver is not necessarily the load-carrying power TRIAC; zero-cross and random-phase variants need the selected manual.

The preview is an independently drawn educational functional reference. Add the selected component’s actual power pins, terminal numbers, timing or analogue reference details when producing a construction drawing.

How to read it

  • Identify the LED input, output main terminals and any zero-cross feature.
  • Trace the external AC switching or triggering circuit.

Information to show or reference

  • Label the LED input, output main terminals and any zero-cross feature.
  • Cross-reference the external AC switching or triggering circuit.
  • Add the selected device or circuit documentation revision, power/reference connections and project signal convention.

A distinction that matters

A phototriac driver is not necessarily the load-carrying power TRIAC; zero-cross and random-phase variants need the selected manual.
