Power converter / inverter
An identified interface converting electrical power between documented circuit forms.
This qualifier identifies an energy interface intended to operate in both directions.
Autodesk IEC-60617 Symbol Preview — Energy-flow qualifiers; vendor family reference, not certified IEC geometry or database identifier.
Shown as an independently authored educational illustration. Use the cited publication and drawing legend to verify the required drafting form.
This qualifier identifies an energy interface intended to operate in both directions. Storage and conversion systems can exchange energy in opposite directions under different modes. A bidirectional qualifier describes that capability without defining when either direction is enabled.
Name the charge/discharge or import/export modes and their interfaces. The operating strategy and protective controls are documented separately from the energy-flow mark.
A bidirectional energy indication does not by itself certify grid-forming or islanding capability.
