What it represents

A conductor group represents the documented phase conductors of a circuit shown individually. Drawing the phase conductors individually expands a system that may also appear as one line in an SLD. The individual view makes terminations and phase mapping visible.

Keep phase labels through branches and changes of direction. Where the drawing returns to a simplified one-line view, provide a clear circuit cross-reference.

How to read it

  • Keep phase sequence and connection mapping explicit when the group branches or changes direction.
  • A three-line group is different from a single-line equivalent representation of the same system.

Information to show or reference

  • Identify the associated device, circuit or diagram boundary.
  • Keep phase sequence and connection mapping explicit when the group branches or changes direction.
  • Cross-reference the equipment data, terminal mapping or operating-state legend needed to interpret the form.

A distinction that matters

A three-line group is different from a single-line equivalent representation of the same system.
