Window voltage supervisor

In plain English

What does Window voltage supervisor mean?

A window supervisor checks whether a monitored voltage stays between its specified lower and upper limits.

A simple example

A circuit can indicate both an undervoltage and an overvoltage condition using the selected supervisor.

Original functional explanation. Arrows show information or energy roles; two-headed arrows identify two-way interfaces. This is not a pinout, certified standards graphic or complete circuit.

What the drawings help you do

Show the monitored voltage together with its lower and upper acceptable limits in the documentation. The window function checks both sides of that range. Label whether the output represents an in-window condition or a fault so the meaning is not reversed by an ambiguous signal name.

Window
The permitted range between two specified boundaries.
Hysteresis
Different transition conditions used to avoid repeated switching near a boundary.

Before using this reference

  • Identify the monitored voltage and both limits.
  • Define the output’s in-window or fault meaning.
  • Reference timing and hysteresis where provided.
How does this differ from a single undervoltage supervisor?

A window supervisor checks a lower and an upper boundary. A single undervoltage function only addresses its specified low-voltage condition. The selected device determines how each result is reported.

A distinction that matters

The permitted window and response time must be specified independently of the symbol.
