What it represents

Produces a timed output pulse that can be extended by a qualifying retrigger condition.

On a schematic, identify the trigger polarities, clear input and timing components and trace the pulse/complemented outputs and timed control use. Keep the component tag and signal/reference names consistent across the control drawing, terminal schedule and device documentation.

A retriggerable one-shot differs from a non-retriggerable pulse generator or a free-running oscillator.

The preview is an independently drawn educational functional reference. Add the selected component’s actual power pins, terminal numbers, timing or analogue reference details when producing a construction drawing.

How to read it

  • Identify the trigger polarities, clear input and timing components.
  • Trace the pulse/complemented outputs and timed control use.

Information to show or reference

  • Label the trigger polarities, clear input and timing components.
  • Cross-reference the pulse/complemented outputs and timed control use.
  • Add the selected device or circuit documentation revision, power/reference connections and project signal convention.

A distinction that matters

A retriggerable one-shot differs from a non-retriggerable pulse generator or a free-running oscillator.
