Drawing conventions

ANSI / IEEE symbol forms

116 explicitly identified drawing forms. Each record names its convention evidence and explains the meaning and drafting context. The broader symbol collection also includes general concepts relevant to multiple conventions.

What this collection means

ANSI/IEEE graphical forms are separate from device-function numbers such as 50, 51 and 87. The forms here are identified from the cited public vendor convention references. IEEE/ANSI 315 and 315A provide standards context; IEEE lists both as Inactive-Reserved. That status is relevant when interpreting legacy drawings and choosing the required project convention.

A related representation expresses a comparable function in the cited context. It does not establish identical graphic construction, terminal numbering or compliance. These original educational illustrations are not a reproduced or certified standards library.
